An open road & new vistas

I was filled with excitement when a friend suggested we travel from Gurgaon to Udaipur on bike—so excited was I that I couldn’t sleep that night! I have travelled to more than 30 districts in Uttar Pradesh but this was my first journey outside the state.

Waking up at 5 o’clock, we embarked early in the morning on a trip that took me through diverse landscapes and introduced me to the rich culture of this part of India. As I hit the open road, I rode through the outskirts of the city, the urban landscape gradually giving way to lush green fields and rolling hills. The air was fresh and crisp, and the sun shone brightly overhead.

I encountered various challenges and obstacles en route. There were steep climbs, rough roads, and unexpected detours. But with each challenge, I grew stronger and more determined to reach my destination. On the way, I met friendly locals who offered me food, shelter, and encouragement. Their hospitality and kindness made the journey even more memorable, and the conversations I had with some of them will stay with me.

Finally, after several hours of riding, I arrived in Udaipur, a city whose charm and tranquility left me instantly captivated. The shimmering lakes, majestic palaces, and narrow streets lined with colourful shops transported me to a different era. In the evening, I made my way to Sajjangarh Lake, where I could admire stunning views from every vantage point. Here, I spent more than two magical hours, watching the lights of Udaipur come on.

My journey from Gurgaon to Udaipur was an unforgettable experience that tested my limits and taught me valuable lessons about perseverance, resilience, and the beauty of the world around us. It was one that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Still, this is just the beginning of my travels, and I look forward to exploring other cities and cultures!
