Missed the Midnight Grapes? Don’t sweat! Kickstart Your Year with 12 Powerful Intentions

Milan

Volume 3 Issue 3 FEB - MARCH 2025

I’m sure we’re all familiar with the tradition of eating 12 grapes under the table at 12 am on New Year’s Eve. It is meant to bring luck and prosperity for each month of the year. But what happens if you miss out? Don’t worry—it’s not too late to make the most of the year ahead. Because, let’s face it, it’s not really about the grapes; it’s about the energy and intentions we release into the world.

The idea of eating 12 grapes and making 12 wishes is really about focusing your energy on the universe. If we look at it through a manifestation lens, it’s about setting the tone for what you want to receive. The good news? Even if you skipped the grapes, you can still start anew by setting 12 powerful intentions. And if you did eat the grapes, think of this as sealing the deal by defining what those wishes truly mean to you.

Now, let’s shift our focus. Instead of viewing them as just 12 wishes, ask yourself: How do I want my life to feel this year? Imagine you’ve already achieved it. This isn’t about lack; it’s about clarity. It’s about getting in touch with your true self and charting a path that aligns with who you are.

Intentions aren’t like a wishlist for Santa They’re more than that. It’s not about manifesting that you’ll buy a Lamborghini in 2025. Intentions go deeper; they align your inner desires with the actions you take. They shape how you approach decisions, respond to challenges, and ultimately live your life. You just gotta search and think harder.

Why Intentions Matter

Setting intentions encourages you to ask yourself powerful questions, like: “How do I want to live?” “What qualities do I want to embody this year?” By answering these questions, you can create intentions that help you stay grounded, even in the chaos of daily life. Intentions aren’t just about goals; they’re about living authentically, and making choices that connect with the essence of who you are and who you want to be.

Steps to Set Positive Intentions

1. Visualise what you want: Close your eyes and picture your ideal life. Trust me, DO IT. Imagine you’ve already achieved it. How does it feel? What does it look, taste, and sound like? Let yourself truly embody that feeling.

2. Write It Down: Be clear and specific. Write your intentions somewhere you’ll see them daily. Whether it’s in your journal, or as a note on your phone, make it visible. I would prefer physically writing it down and not using your phone or laptop.

3. Get clarity on what you want: Go beyond surface-level desires. Instead of saying, “I want to be rich,” try something like, “I want to become a successful CEO and reach my financial goals this year.” Clarity is key.

4. Definitely use affirmations: Affirmations are positive, present-tense statements that reinforce your intentions. For example, “I attract abundance and success in all areas of my life.” Repeat them often.

I want to enjoy my life to the fullest. Life isn’t only about ticking off big achievements. It’s about laughing until your stomach hurts, savouring your favourite dessert, or dancing like nobody’s watching. Find joy in the little things that make life worth living.

I will prioritise my physical, emotional, and mental needs. Self-care isn’t selfish; it’s survival. Whether it’s saying no to a draining event or yes to an extra slice of pizza, listen to your needs and honour them.

I want a healthy relationship with my body, mind, and soul. No, you don’t need to be perfect. But nurturing your well-being with kindness and setting goals that resonate with you? That’s where the magic lies.

I will acknowledge and appreciate the good in my life. It’s easy to get caught up in what’s missing, but pausing to notice what’s there—the cosy bed, the loyal friend, the hilarious meme—is a game-changer.

I will practice gratitude daily. Think of gratitude as the secret sauce to a happier life. Start small. Write down three things you’re grateful for, even if it’s just the existence of coffee.

I will live my life with purpose. Life’s too short to just drift. Wake up with intention. Whether it’s acing a project or binge-watching your favourite show guilt-free, own your purpose for the day.

I attract success and abundance effortlessly. Sounds bold, right? But believing in your ability to create opportunities is half the battle. The other half? Showing up and doing the work.

I will let go of what no longer serves me. Carrying old baggage is exhausting. Whether it’s a toxic habit or the sweater you haven’t worn since 2010, it’s time to let it go and make space for better things.

I will be unapologetically myself. You’re the only you in this world, and that’s your superpower. Embrace your quirks, flaws, and fabulousness freely.

I will speak kindly to myself. If you wouldn’t say it to your best friend, don’t say it to yourself. Swap the inner critic for an inner cheerleader—you’ll thank yourself later.

I will make time for fun. Adulting is hard, but fun isn’t optional. Whether it’s a spontaneous trip or a night of board games, joy deserves a permanent spot in your calendar.

I will prioritise self-care. Think of self-care as a love letter to yourself. It’s not indulgent; it’s essential. You matter, so treat yourself like it.

Here’s the thing: these are just examples to spark your own ideas. Don’t copy them or let anyone else (including AI) write your story. Your intentions should feel like they’re coming from your soul, not from a template. Think of it like this—no one knows your dreams, your struggles, or your quirks better than you. So, dig deep, be honest, and make your intentions a reflection of the amazing, unique person you are. Trust me, that’s where the real magic happens.

Final Thoughts

So, you missed the grapes—big deal! What really matters is what you do now. Don’t miss out on the chance to set intentions and take charge of your year. This isn’t about superstition; it’s about aligning your energy, planning with purpose, and manifesting the life you truly want.

Say it with me: This is going to be my year. Believe it, own it, and live it. Let’s make 2025 a year to remember!
